Evidence of the past Alpine Museum Situated in the old « Chamonix Palace » (the first of 3 palaces to be built in Chamonix at the beginning of the 20th century) , this beautiful museum retraces the development of Chamonix from the first tourists who came to admire the « glacières de Savoye » to the golden age of winter sports. An important collection of prints illustrate the considerable changes to the valley between the 18th and 20th centuries, but you can also admire photographs, relief maps, rock crystals, ancient objects, costumes and all that constitutes the memory of the valley.
